Little Bitterroot Lake, Montana

On Monday we had a delicious breakfast in downtown Bigfork at the Pocketstone Café and then took a motorcycle ride around the greater Bigfork area to explore a little bit. There are a lot of smaller lakes and rivers all over so it was fun to ride around and see the area.  Then we drove to Little Bitterroot Lake in Marion, about a 45 minute drive from Bigfork to see where Michael went to camp when he was 12 and 14. Marion is a tiny town known mostly for the lake…the post office and store that were there when he went to camp aren’t even there! It was a gorgeous afternoon so we spent a few hours on the jet ski riding around & looking at all of the houses on the lake.  We met a really nice family who helped us with a jet ski issue that we had and then had a few glasses of wine with them at their house while a storm came in…it was fun to watch it (from inside!) Then we headed back to Bigfork for a late dinner at the only restaurant that was still open at 1030pm…and then bed!

This morning (Tuesday) Michael and I split up…he is out on the jet ski at Flathead Lake and I am enjoying a nice breakfast in town and then am going to wander around a little bit. Tonight we will go to the Bigfork Summer Playhouse (aka the theatre by the bay) to see Man of La Mancha which was also highly recommended by everyone we talked to that knew Bigfork! It’s supposed to be a great show so we are excited to see it! All of the performers are rising college-age stars and the shows are all Broadway musicals that they rotate through the schedule for the summer.
